No Man’s North

No Man’s North is an open world survival game that follows the story of James Heresy, an average man living in British Colombia with just his RV and dog Monty.

Explore gorgeous environments on the long roads and maintain and customise your RV, unique to your play-through. Keep moving to avoid a deadly frozen storm, freezing everything in its path.

Main Objective

Life as we know it has come to a stop. The next ice-age is (or was) upon us. Not many listened to the warning signs. Unfortunately for James, his family did. After 10 grueling months the family finally left him. “You just don’t listen to anyone James, how can you believe that this isn’t going to get any worse?” Those were the last words he remembers before seeing his beloved 4×4 disappear into the blistering cold.

‘They won’t last long with those tyres’ he thought. They often felt James never cared. But he did. Maybe they were right to leave him. Maybe not. The only thing they didn’t take was his RV.

That’s because he never told them where the keys were.

GAME DEVELOPMENT BRIEF

We’re working closely with MLC to co-develop No Man’s North – an open world survival game that follows the story of James Heresy, an average man living in British Colombia with just his RV and dog Monty. With only his RV and his last remaining supplies, how long will James Heresy survive the elements and others desperate to escape the spreading permafrost?

MLC’s contribution to No Man’s North began as a simple job, but quickly grew into a large co-development collaboration where they helped guide the project’s art style, game design, and systems while crafting beautiful handmade assets such as concepts, models, textures, and animations. As of March 2023, both teams behind Mindflair Games & MLC have dedicated a year to bringing No Man’s North to life, from planning the story to the demo’s release. It has been, and continues to be, an exciting journey for everyone involved.
